Medcomptrain is the brainchild of its main member who was actively involved in the adjudication of Injury on Duty claims, pensions, medical account administration, fatality claims and training of employers, employees, medical service providers and labour organisations.

The member was also the main mover in producing a text book in collaboration with the Standards Generating Body of the Insurance Sector of the Education and Training Authority (INSETA) on the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act. No 130 of 1993 (as amended). The booklet is titled “COID in Practice” which was approved by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) and attract credits on completion of this correspondence course.

The member was also the negotiator and contributor with the Centre for Industrial and Organisational Psychology at the University of South Africa (UNISA) in drafting, critiquing and finalising a short course in COID. In fact all the case studies in the course material was written by the main member.
